Piracy – for or against?

Hello. My name is Evgeniy. I decided to think about piracy in relation to computer games.

Tell me what’s bad about this (there’s not much good either, but still)? Yes, because of piracy, companies don’t get enough money, they don’t have enough money, and they can’t release more games. Yes. BUT. Why then, if piracy is prohibited, do not close torrent trackers, file hosting services and others like them?? A?

I personally am not against piracy. I’m not particularly rich, so I don’t always have enough money to buy video games. I mostly borrow from friends. Or I download. But tell me why it’s forbidden? In my opinion, in modern society it is possible to protect ourselves from piracy only when people have salaries of such a level that they can easily buy licensed games for 1-1.5k without fear of having to spend the rest of their time before their salary parents sit on Noodles b/p. It is impossible to create perfect protection. There will still be a person with straight arms who can hack it. The advantages of pirated games are that they are FREE (Oh yes, it’s a freebie) and that’s why they attract so many people.

The same can be said for software. Have you seen the prices for 3dmax?? Photoshop? “It’s easier to steal it [Photoshop], burn it and serve time than to buy it © Bash.org.ru"

But the license has its advantages. This is multiplayer, additional features, updates without running around the internet looking for crack and much more.

Please tell me what you think about this topic.

P.s. There is no positive image or image in the title due to poor internet. Sorry.

Eh… ignorance and outright lack of education… sorry

When a car is stolen, the original https://zoomacasino.co.uk/login/ disappears. When a game is downloaded, there is one more copy of the game in the world.

The same can be said for jewelry. Have you seen gold prices?? diamonds?

For or against..

On the one hand, when we buy a license, we kind of pay for labor, etc.

But on the other hand, we DO NOT BUY the game. We rent the right to use. And at any moment it can be taken away from us… In addition, even those files that are installed on the computer do not belong to us and the user does not have any rights to them. Moreover… if the user intends to make a backup of the installed game, he will immediately become a pirate or, as it is now fashionable to say, a “thief”.

I’m generally silent about wages… very often the game is buggy and often unplayable. And no one is obliged and does not consider himself obliged to release at least a workable product to the market. There is also a fashion now for various types of protection from users. The latest examples are AC2, Conviction, HAWX 2, Anno 2070 as well as games with Starforce. You don’t have to look far for an example… I foolishly bought AC2 and at first I couldn’t really play and couldn’t play at all when I stopped the torrent. Or Ubersoldier with StarForce… On Khryusha everything was timid, but on Windows 7 during installation the system goes into overdrive and only a rollback helps.

Also, very often a “cool game” turns out to be terrible crap… which costs as much as a great game. But the truth is… no one is obliged to make good games.

And here we come to this denominator… no one owes anything to the user, but the user must pay. Must pay for a non-functional product… But in reality, the user mainly pays for problems… and for the “respect” of Internet cattle and Forever Alons and others who consider themselves “not beggars”.

But I refuse to pay for the problems. I’d just rather download the game and if I’m confident in the developers and I like the game, I’ll buy it. If I don’t like it, if they didn’t give me what they told me about… then I won’t buy it and that’s that.

It’s funny how quickly priorities changed on SG
and here I remember a couple of years ago they posted cracks for games..
It was a good NoCD/NoDVD storage, where did it all go >_>

Piracy is a fake problem. Good games sell well most of the time. Just look at the sales of Half-Life 2, Skyrim, Batman: Arkham City and many other hits. A good game is a pleasure to buy. Publishers will simply blame poor sales on piracy, when in fact it’s all because they’re releasing a crap game. After all, I don’t want to admit my crookedness. And with programs it’s even easier. In most cases, you can find free analogues of the licensed one at a price that is in no way inferior to the paid one.

-Hello everyone, my name is Nikita
-Hi Nikita
It sounded in chorus
-I… I..
The gaze dropped to the floor
-Come on, you can do it
I looked around at the people sitting next to me, and plucking up the courage, almost in a whisper, said this
-I’m… a pirate..
Sitting down in my place, I began to sob, I was surrounded by different people: businessmen, teachers, schoolchildren and ordinary hard workers, but we were all or are pirates..

As you please. Do you want to feel superior to others… please. It doesn’t bother me, it amuses me.

And I have quite a lot of excuses like this on my shelves and in my Steam account. And these excuses still bring the publisher and developers money for their work 🙂

The funny thing is that almost everyone who wrote “Death to pirates, buy a license” (and stuff like that) uses pirated OS and software, downloads movies and music. Somehow this smacks of hypocrisy.

I agree about specialized software, it’s fucking expensive. As for the toys. I’m not a gamer, so I have enough of my own coppers, and I buy collectible boxes and console toys so that they cost me about a piece and a half.
