PETA accuses plumber Mario of abusing raccoons

The organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) criticized another game. This time, the indignation of animal rights activists was caused by a Nintendo project called Super Mario 3D Land, which was released on November 13.

Animal rights activists have concluded that the raccoon costume worn by Mario in the game promotes cruelty to these animals. “Maybe in the game Tanuki are just a costume, but in real life they are raccoon dogs that are skinned alive. By wearing a Tanuki costume, Mario shows that wearing fur is a good thing,” says PETA.

Representatives of the organization also developed their own project dedicated to protecting raccoons from the legendary plumber. It’s called Super Tanooki Skin 2D. In this game, users are invited to play as a raccoon dog whose skin was stolen by Mario.

This is the second video game in recent memory that has caused outrage among animal rights activists. Last week, PETA Germany protested the killing of a rat in the shooter Battlefield 3. Then a representative of the organization, Nadja Kutscher, said that this event would embitter Battlefield fans and that violence against animals, even virtual ones, is the first step to violence against people.

Yeah, the rat will primarily contribute to violence against people. Not Tuya’s heaps of killed human enemies, but one rat.

The IVvKYO community (Italian Plumbers in Raccoon Costumes) decided to submit
lawsuit against PETA.

“We are confident that this behavior by PETA will not go unnoticed. Their disdain for our culture, our traditions, work, social status, nationality, costumes – everything reveals them as creepy and cynical barbarians. We do not ask for support, banal human respect and tolerance are enough for us. »

For now, PETA refuses to comment.
